    “The Influence of the Circus on the Visual Arts”

    On September 29, at 5pm, State of the Art will transform FNAC NorteShopping into a “round table” to receive the debate “The Influence of the Circus in the Visual Arts”, within the scope of the exhibition “The Circus of Fernand Léger “.

    An intimate conversation focusing on the influence of the circus in the visual / plastic arts, as a source of inspiration for artists such as Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and others.

    The panel will consist of Jorge Barreto Xavier, ambassador of the Exhibition “The Circus of Fernand Léger” and former Secretary of State for Culture; Bernardo Pinto de Almeida, professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and David Oliveira, plastic artist on show within the exhibition “The Circus in Portuguese Art”.

    The debate will be moderated by António Gonçalves, artist, artistic director of the Ala da Frente Gallery, teacher and former Director of the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation.
