On August 24th, from 3:00 p.m. on, State of the Art and Centro Colombo – in partnership with the Experimental Theatre of Cascais – will hold a Final Casting to elect the two young people (a boy and a girl) that best perform. The two winners will join the cast of actors for the “Peter Pan” theatre play – which the Experimental Theatre of Cascais is preparing as part of the project “Art Arrived at Colombo” and the exhibition “The Fantastic World of Paula Rego” – having the unique opportunity to participate in an unedited theatre play alongside known actors such as Ruy de Carvalho, FF and Bárbara Branco.
Catarina Alfaro, senior curator of the Museum “Casa das Histórias Paula Rego” and curator of the exhibition “The Fantastic World of Paula Rego”, is preparing to conduct four guided tours: July 27, August 10, September 7 and 21, at 12pm.
State of the Art will bring, for the first time, works of artist Paula Rego to a commercial space. The initiative, organized within the 7th edition of the project Art at Colombo, has already received exhibitions from Andy Warhol. Terry O’Neill, Salvador Dalí or Jen Lewin.
Shortly, State of the Art will present the Exhibition “The Divine Comedy by Salvador Dali” in Brazil. Stay tuned!
For the past two consecutive years, State of the Art has been awarded “Best Portuguese Agency of the Year” in the category Activation & Events.
The last two concerts of the Orchestra Cycle, a social responsibility project developed by State of the Art for Sonae Sierra, were held in Centro Colombo, Lisbon with Orquestra Geração and acclaimed Maestro Jesus Olivetti and in Nova Arcada, Braga with the Music Conservatory Calouste Gulbenkian and the participation of 160 children.
As of today, two new pieces will integrate the Exhibition in Casino Estoril, running until next February 12, 2017. The Barber Chair of the António Variety show (1998) created in Art Nouveau by M. Bartholo (Oporto, late 19th-20th century) was purposefully restored for this exhibition. The other piece that integrates the exhibition from today on, is a macro Hourglass of the show Egoísta (2002).
