Dino Alves dress for fight against AIDS in Lisbon Fashion Week

Within the scope of the exhibition “Keith Haring. Between art, activism and fashion”, ambassador Dino Alves, one of the most renowned Portuguese fashion designers, created an unprecedented dress inspired by Haring’s work, presented exclusively at ModaLisboa 2019, during October 10 and 13, 2019.

According to Dino Alves, the dress called “Keith”, was created as “a piece that represented, in a symbolic way, the various aspects of the artist’s work. “Keith” was conceived part as painting, part as dress with graphic symbols that spread all over the dress’s long tail. The rest of the dress is completely white, using the same graphic elements, made from the dress’s own fabric and applied to a second skin layer.”

On October 28, 2019, the dress was sold by Cabral Moncada Leilões at the Modern and Contemporary Art auction. All profits from this auction went to Ser + – Portuguese Association for the Prevention and Challenge of AIDS.

These two initiatives were carried out as complementary actions to the exhibition “Keith Haring. Between art, activism and fashion”, which took place at CascaiShopping between September 10 to November 10.
